U.S. vs. Ghana

My predicted outcome: U.S. 1-2 Ghana
Real outcome: U.S. 2-1 Ghana

Clint Dempsey (U.S) scores in first minute, with some awesome dribbling. The Yanks are up one-nil. Then, 23 minutes in, American forward Jozy Altidore strains a hamstring. He is subbed out for Aron Johannsson. At 30 minutes, Ghana’s midfielder Mohammed Rabiu receives a yellow card. Halftime hits with nothing else happening. At 46 minutes, American defender John Brooks Jr. comes in for Matt Besler. Then, at 59′, Ghana brings German-born forward, Kevin-Prince Boateng in for Jordan Ayew. At 71′ Ghana takes out Mohammed Rabiu, who already had a yellow card, and brings in Michael Essien. 6 minutes later, the U.S. makes a substitution, swapping midfielder Alejandro Bedoya for Graham Zusi. At 78 minutes, midfielder Albert Adomah comes in for Christian Atsu. Nothing happens for 4 minutes, until Ghana’s Andre Ayew, Jordan’s brother, scores the equalizer. U.S. 1-1 Ghana. But the game isn’t over yet. At 86′, John Brooks Jr. comes and scores with an amazing header of a corner kick. Then Ghana’s Sulley Muntari receives a yellow in added time

Awesome plays:
Clint Dempsey’s 1st minute goal

Andre Ayew’s equalizer

John Brooks’ game winner

Not-so-awesome plays:

Jozy Altidore’s hamstring pull

Clint Dempsey’s kick in the face

Official Man of the Match: Clint Dempsey

My  MOTM: John Brooks Jr.
